Full-Time Billing & Collections Specialist

PLEASE NOTE: This position will be located at the Sage Recovery & Wellness Center outpatient location in Westlake.

Duties Include:

• Call insurance companies for benefit information and documenting coverage in client’s file.
• Manage, track and when necessary, obtain authorization for services.
• Assist in creating quotes for services based on insurance benefits.
• Ensure all billing is done in a timely manner.
• Submit and track claim corrections.
• Maintain provider CAQH, Availity and other databases.
• Maintain contracted rates in into provider profiles in EMR system.
• Communicate with clinicians, clients and their representatives regarding patient coverage terminations or denials.
• Communicate with clients regarding billing and statement questions.
• Submit documentation and records to insurance companies as needed.
• Assist in credentialing and re-credentialing providers and group.
• Send statements to clients per company policy.
• Make collections calls to clients.
• Submit claims to insurance.
• Prepare and review patient statements.
• Review delinquent accounts and call for collection purposes.
• Process insurance and patient payments.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Code and submit claims for services.
• Ensure reimbursement for all services.
• Handle information about patient treatment, diagnosis, and related procedures to ensure proper coding.
• Appeal and track denied claims.
• Investigate insurance fraud and report if found.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in invoicing, managing client accounts, and medical insurance billing
• Proficient in Excel
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work well as a team and independently
• Strong technical skills in Excel required
• Report building skills required
• Strong work ethic
• Maintains a sense of urgency of prompt collecting
