Sage Recovery & Wellness Center provides individualized treatment for adults struggling with Xanax and other benzodiazepine use disorders. Through evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and whole-person support, we help clients address substance use, co-occurring mental health concerns, and the factors contributing to continued use while developing skills that support long-term recovery.
Sage Recovery & Wellness Center provides Xanax addiction treatment for adults in Austin, TX, through individualized programs designed around each client’s clinical needs, circumstances, and treatment goals. Care is available across multiple levels of support, including residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), and outpatient services.
Treatment considers more than substance use alone. Our team of expert clinicians works with clients to understand the biological, psychological, social, relational, and environmental factors that may contribute to continued Xanax use while addressing co-occurring mental health conditions when present. Treatment also focuses on developing practical coping, relapse-prevention, and recovery skills that clients can continue using beyond structured care.
Located on a secluded 24-acre property near Austin, Sage Recovery Villa is a 15-bed residential treatment center designed to feel comfortable, private, and welcoming rather than institutional. Private rooms, peaceful surroundings, and thoughtfully designed spaces provide an environment where clients can focus on treatment, recovery, and their overall well-being.
Sage Recovery & Wellness Center provides individualized treatment for adults with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders. Our programs combine evidence-based treatment, trauma-informed care, and whole-person support within a continuum that allows treatment recommendations to evolve as clinical needs change.
Substance use disorders and mental health conditions often occur together. When both are present, we use an integrated treatment approach that considers how symptoms and behaviors may interact. Addressing co-occurring concerns within the same treatment plan can help clients develop a stronger foundation for continued recovery and improved functioning.
We approach treatment through a trauma-informed lens that emphasizes safety, trust, collaboration, choice, and empowerment. When trauma is part of a client’s history or current concerns, treatment can address its impact while allowing trauma-related work to progress at a pace appropriate for the individual.
We offer specialized programming for executives, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, first responders, and others in high-responsibility careers. Treatment considers factors such as workplace stress, leadership responsibilities, privacy concerns, professional identity, and the challenges of balancing treatment with career obligations.
Our residential setting is intentionally designed to feel comfortable, welcoming, and restorative rather than institutional. Private rooms, peaceful surroundings, and wellness-focused amenities allow clients to focus on treatment while maintaining dignity, privacy, and connection to everyday life.
Our full continuum of care allows clients to receive the right level of support at the right time. As needs change throughout recovery, treatment recommendations can be adjusted to provide appropriate structure and ongoing support.
At Sage Recovery Villa, adults receive individualized residential and partial hospitalization treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Treatment combines evidence-based therapies, trauma-informed care, psychiatric services when appropriate, and whole-person approaches within an individualized treatment plan.
Residential treatment provides a high level of structure, therapeutic support, and care for adults who do not require medical detox or hospital-level services. All residential clients receive a psychiatric evaluation as part of developing an individualized treatment plan based on their clinical needs and treatment goals. Our residential program serves adults ages 18 and older and includes specialized programming for professionals seeking treatment for substance use disorders, mental health conditions, or co-occurring disorders.
Because benzodiazepine withdrawal can involve serious medical risks, clients who require medically supervised withdrawal management are referred to an appropriate detoxification provider before admission to residential treatment. Our team can help coordinate the transition into Sage following detox when appropriate.
We offer partial hospitalization programming (PHP) at both our Sage Recovery Villa and Westlake locations. Our PHP is designed for adults 18 and older, including specialized support for working professionals, with family involvement incorporated into treatment when appropriate.
PHP provides a high level of structure and support while allowing clients to live at home or in another supportive living environment. Individuals participate in daily programming that includes group therapy, individual therapy, a psychiatric evaluation, regular meetings with a psychiatric provider, medication management when clinically appropriate, and other evidence-based treatment modalities. PHP is designed for those who need intensive therapeutic support while maintaining connection to their daily lives and responsibilities.
Our Westlake Center in Austin, TX offers intensive outpatient treatment and outpatient services for adults with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring concerns. Treatment is individualized and may incorporate multiple evidence-based therapeutic approaches, skills development, psychiatric services when appropriate, and whole-person support.
Intensive outpatient treatment provides more structure and frequency than traditional outpatient therapy while allowing clients to continue living at home and maintaining many work, family, and personal responsibilities.
Sage offers adult IOP programming for substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders. Individualized treatment may incorporate individual and group therapy, relapse-prevention strategies, coping and emotional-regulation skills, and other services based on clinical need.
Outpatient services can provide continued support following residential treatment, PHP, or IOP and may also be appropriate for individuals who do not need a structured treatment program. The appropriate level of care is based on each client’s clinical needs, functioning, safety, and treatment goals.
Treatment is individualized around each client’s substance use, mental health, physical health considerations, circumstances, strengths, needs, and goals.
Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment to better understand the client’s substance use, mental health, relevant medical history, current functioning, support system, and treatment goals. This information helps the clinical team develop an individualized treatment plan. Treatment plans are reviewed and adjusted as clients progress and their needs change.
We offer evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and other modalities based on the client’s needs. Therapy can help clients better understand patterns associated with substance use, develop coping and emotional-regulation skills, respond differently to triggers and cravings, and address co-occurring mental health concerns.
Substance use and recovery are influenced by many areas of a person’s life. Our whole-person approach considers mental health, physical well-being, relationships, environment, stress, routines, and other factors that may affect recovery. Treatment can incorporate complementary practices and wellness-focused activities alongside clinical care when appropriate.
Xanax and other benzodiazepine use disorders can occur alongside anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, and other mental health concerns. When co-occurring conditions are present, treatment considers how these concerns and substance use may interact.
Trauma-informed care is incorporated throughout our programs, and trauma-related concerns may be addressed when clinically appropriate. Treatment is individualized rather than assuming that trauma or another mental health condition is the underlying cause of every client’s substance use.
We understand that professionals and executives may face unique challenges when seeking treatment, including high levels of responsibility, workplace stress, privacy concerns, and the need to navigate professional obligations while prioritizing their health. Our programming addresses these needs while providing individualized treatment for substance use, mental health, and co-occurring conditions. For executives, specialized programming can also include access to a C-suite executive coach during treatment, with the option to continue coaching following treatment.
Relapse prevention is an important component of substance use disorder treatment. Clients can learn to recognize situations, environments, relationships, thoughts, emotions, and other factors associated with increased risk while developing strategies for responding to them.
Sage’s continuum of care allows treatment recommendations to change as clients progress. Residential treatment, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services provide different levels of structure and support based on each individual’s clinical needs.

Our Xanax addiction treatment programs combine individualized treatment planning, co-occurring disorder care, family involvement when appropriate, relapse-prevention strategies, and continuing-care planning to support each client’s recovery.
Substance use disorders can affect people from many different backgrounds and circumstances. Our clinicians provide respectful, nonjudgmental care and work collaboratively with clients to understand their experiences, strengths, needs, and goals throughout treatment.
Family involvement and group therapy may be incorporated into treatment based on each client’s needs. Family therapy can help loved ones better understand substance use disorders, strengthen communication, establish healthier boundaries, and identify ways to support recovery. Group therapy provides opportunities for connection, shared learning, feedback, and skill development with peers.
Continuing-care planning helps clients prepare for challenges that may arise following a structured treatment program. Plans are individualized and may include ongoing therapy, psychiatric care when appropriate, peer or community support, recovery resources, relapse-prevention strategies, and recommendations for continued treatment.
Xanax (alprazolam) is a benzodiazepine prescribed for certain anxiety and panic-related conditions. Regular use can lead to physical dependence, and some individuals develop patterns of use consistent with a substance use disorder. If Xanax use has become difficult to control or is negatively affecting health, relationships, work, or daily functioning, a professional evaluation can help determine the appropriate next step.
Physical dependence and a substance use disorder are not the same thing. Physical dependence can develop with regular benzodiazepine use, including when Xanax is taken as prescribed. Signs that use may have developed into a substance use disorder can include higher doses than intended, unsuccessful attempts to reduce or stop use, cravings, continuing use despite negative consequences, or significant disruption in daily life.
Abruptly stopping Xanax or other benzodiazepines after physical dependence has developed can cause serious and potentially dangerous withdrawal symptoms. Individuals should seek medical guidance rather than attempting to stop suddenly. Sage does not provide medical detox, but our admissions team can help coordinate care with an appropriate withdrawal-management provider when needed.
Seeking help when Xanax use first becomes concerning can allow individuals and families to understand what is happening and identify an appropriate level of support before problems become more disruptive. Because benzodiazepine withdrawal can carry medical risks, professional guidance is particularly important when someone has been using Xanax regularly and wants to reduce or discontinue use.
Our programs provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment for adults recovering from Xanax and other benzodiazepine use disorders. Treatment considers substance use alongside mental health, relationships, stress, environment, and other factors affecting recovery while helping clients develop practical coping and relapse-prevention skills and a plan for continued support.
Withdrawal symptoms can vary depending on factors such as the amount and frequency of Xanax use, length of use, other medications or substances being used, and individual health considerations. Symptoms may include increased anxiety, difficulty sleeping, irritability, restlessness, tremors, sweating, difficulty concentrating, and other physical or psychological symptoms.
Benzodiazepine withdrawal can also become medically serious and, in some circumstances, may involve seizures or other complications. Because of these risks, someone who has developed physical dependence on Xanax should not abruptly stop taking it without appropriate medical guidance.
If medically supervised detox is needed before beginning treatment at Sage, our admissions team can help coordinate care with a trusted Austin detox provider and support the transition into the appropriate Sage treatment program afterward.
Sage Recovery & Wellness Center does not provide medical detox or 24/7 medically supervised withdrawal management on-site. Because withdrawal from Xanax and other benzodiazepines can be medically serious, some individuals need to complete medically supervised detoxification before entering our programs. Our team can help determine the appropriate next step and coordinate care so clients and families do not have to navigate the process on their own.
Yes. Sage treats substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders. Because Xanax may originally have been prescribed to treat anxiety, panic disorders, or panic attacks, it is particularly important that treatment considers both the substance use and the mental health symptoms the medication was being used to manage.
Treatment is individualized and may incorporate psychotherapy, psychiatric services when appropriate, coping and emotional-regulation skills, relapse-prevention strategies, and other interventions based on the client’s clinical needs.
The appropriate level of care depends on factors such as substance use patterns, withdrawal risk, mental health symptoms, medical needs, safety, daily functioning, previous treatment, available support, and treatment goals.
Our admissions team can help assess your needs and determine whether residential treatment, PHP, IOP, outpatient care, or referral to medical detox or another provider is the most appropriate next step.
