November CEU: Addressing Sexual Health in Individual and Couples Therapy

12:00-1:30pm on Thursday, Nov. 30th 2017
Hosted by Sage Recovery & Wellness Center
Free | Lunch Provided | Lunch Served 11:30-12:00

Participants will learn how integrate Doug Braun-Harvey and Michael Vigorito’s Out of Control Sexual Behavior (OCSB) model into their work with individuals and couples. The OCSB model was designed as a way to discuss sexual health with clients and reduce harmful sexual behaviors. Currently there is a debate in the sex therapy community regarding terminology to describe clients’ problematic sexual behaviors, and the implications of term-meaning on treatment. Regardless what term participants use in their practice; this lecture will inform clinicians’ treatment recommendations when working with clients seeking to change problematic sexual behaviors.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand barriers to effective sexual health conversations
  • Increase comfort and confidence discussing sexuality with clients
  • Integrate Sexual Health Principles into assessment & treatment frame
  • Create sexual health vision to guide behavior change
