Treating Sex/Drug Linked Behavioral Patterns Using the Six Principles of Sexual Health

12:00-1:30pm on Thursday, July 27, 2017
Presented by Dr. Mathis Kennington, PhD, LMFT-S & Jami Lynn Bula, LMFT Associate
Hosted by Sage Recovery & Wellness Center
Free | Lunch Provided | Lunch Served 12-12:30

Without a competent and health-focused approach to evaluating the impact of sexual behavior on drug and alcohol addiction, the risk of relapse is high. Clinicians who work with clients in recovery must be aware of the relationship between sexual behavior and drug and alcohol use. Sexual situations can trigger drug or alcohol use to increase confidence or lower inhibitions. In this workshop, participants will discover how sexual behaviors may trigger destructive substance abuse behaviors. Participants will learn assessment strategies to promote long-term recovery and develop integrative intervention strategies that can prevent a hidden relapse risk following treatment.
