Sage Recovery Austin is looking for a Clinical Director to orchestrate & oversee quality, development and compliance of both Austin area locations. The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for clinical and quality assurance of outpatient and residential services, providing strong leadership to the Program Managers, ensuring the provision of high-quality deliverables by assigned staff across departments and programs. This position supports the program manager and clinical supervisors to ensure services are being delivered in a timely manner and in accordance with the company’s vision, mission and meeting all regulatory standards.

Sage Recovery & Wellness Center is an outpatient wellness center for the whole family. The center offers individual, couples, and family counseling, weekly group therapy, and intensive outpatient group therapy programs, specializing in both substance use and mental health. Sage Recovery & Wellness Center is located in Austin, TX.

Sage Recovery Villa is a 35-day, 15-bed residential treatment center for adults struggling with substance use, specializing in trauma and co-occurring disorders. This luxury treatment center is located on 24-acres of countryside estate, just east of Austin, in Manor, TX, just 10 minutes north of the Airport near the 130 toll road.


  • Recruit, manage, and develop clinical staffand day-to-day operation managers;
  • Conducts periodic clinical documentation audit to review ensure internal audits are being conducted with all appropriate guidelines and regulations;
  • Ensures that complianceis being metand develops improvement plans based on internal and external audit outcomes;
  • Leads teams todevelop &implement new programs and services;
  • Facilitatesclinicalmeetings, supervisionand trainingsfor clinical and direct care staff;
  • Plan and implement on-going training for all staff delivering servicesto clients;
  • Contribute to the diagnostic and treatment planning process in collaboration with staff and outside clinical providers;
  • Providespresentations in the community to provideeducationand bring recognition to Sage’s clinical expertise;
  • Evaluate programs and leaders on a regular basis to ensure performance measures are being met;
  • Be available on-call to handle urgent clinical or staffing issues;
  • Consult withMedical Director on developing processes and protocol where medical and clinical processes overlap;
  • In conjunction with the clinical supervisors, reviews and completes clinical staff evaluations;
  • Represents the clinical team at occasional networking or clinical events with area providers;

Education & Qualification: 

  • Experience in residential and outpatient drug & alcohol treatment programsrequired
  • Understanding of JACHO, State and other regulatory standards
  • Master’s degree in counseling or mental health related field 
  • Fully licensed in the state of Texas, holding either an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC 
  • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) a plus 
  • Management and leadership experience
  • 5 yearsof experience working in substance abuse and mental health fields
