The main goal of an alumni program is to strengthen recovery. Individuals belong to a community of people who all wish to remain sober. A network of peers who can relate and understand what individuals may be going through can provide ongoing encouragement and support. By being connected to others in varying stages of recovery, people can gain hope in recovery as well as the desire to remain drug and alcohol free. Others who are further along in recovery may be able to offer encouragement to someone who is newer to the recovery journey. Individuals in an alumni program can provide each other with moral support and a forum to share both trials and triumphs with others who can truly empathize.
Attending the alumni program will also allow you to visit with Sage staff and old friends you have made during your journey with Sage. We offer weekly alumni gatherings locally each month. We are dedicated to helping clients stay connected with us, each other and the local recovery community. This is a new way of life, and being around others who are on a similar path is inspiring and motivating. This is a great way to avoid relapse and relate with others who can support you during your recovery journey. Our alumni program serves as an aftercare network for those who are practicing long-term sobriety and are looking for encouragement from others.
For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.
