Presentation objectives:
1. Attendees will become familiar with some of the medications commonly used to treat psychiatric illnesses.
2. Attendees will learn when and why this medications are prescribed.
3. Attendees will learn basics of medication classes, indications, effects, and side effects.

About The Presenter

Dr. Larson earned her medical degree with distinction in research from the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio in 2011. She completed her residency in General Psychiatry and then went on to complete a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at The University of Texas Dell Medical School. She holds two board certifications in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She is Adjunct Faculty at University of Texas Health at San Antonio where she serves as the consulting psychiatrist for the Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center and is the Principal Investigator for ongoing studies on sibling relationships. She is on the board of the Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society and speaks at their conferences both nationally and internationally. She is the owner and founder of Austin Child Psychiatry, a private psychiatric practice serving children, teens and young adults in Austin, Texas. She specializes in treating Depressive and Anxiety Disorders and has a special interest in siblings of children with chronic illness and disabilities.
