The holistic and trauma-informed services at Sage Recovery and Wellness Center are designed to allow for a custom-built individualized treatment plan ranging from a structured and intensive program to services chosen a la carte style all with the same thing in mind: provide the level and type of support that best fits your treatment needs. We meet clients where they are at and affirm their self-identified goals for treatment. The therapeutic modality underpinning our outpatient services is Dialectical Behavior Therapy which promotes autonomous regulation of emotions through tangible skills and mindfulness practices. At Sage Recovery, we believe clients are simply doing the best they can with the knowledge and skills they currently possess, and our outpatient services aim to equip individuals with a greater understanding of self and their environment in order to foster feelings of empowerment. We also believe that our clients may not have caused all their problems, but they do have a responsibility to respond in a healthy way to solve them. Our holistic and trauma-informed outpatient services incorporate many other modalities such as EMDR, CBT, ACT, Mindfulness-Oriented Recovery Enhancement (MORE) and others. Additionally, Sage Recovery understands that all recovery journeys to wellness are unique and flexibility is necessary. We offer opportunities for clients to explore different recovery models and do not rigidly impose one method over another.

Services Explained

  • Adolescent Yoga Therapy

Yoga Therapy promotes wellness through encompassing a physical, psychological, and spiritual healing. Traditional yoga positions, breathing exercises, and relaxation/meditation techniques are used to explore psychological issues to create a pathway to inner and outer balance. It can be particularly helpful with chronic conditions included but not limited to mental health concerns, addiction, and chronic pain. We utilize restorative yoga practice which is a calming yoga practice and all physical limitations and skill levels can be accommodated.

Sessions are offered in a group setting as well as individually. Individually, clients will work with a licensed master level therapist who is also a certified yoga teacher to set clear expectations and goals for treatment. Individual sessions include talk therapy around thoughts or emotions that surface during physical sequences. In a group setting, clients are taught physical sequences and provided with education on the significance of the movement, however, the processing of thoughts and emotions are limited.

  • Adolescent Psychiatric Medication Management

Prescribing psychiatric medication to adolescents requires an experienced and mindful approach. Our psychiatric providers invest time and energy in achieving a regimen that supports your mental health and substance use needs. A Psychiatric Evaluation begins that process to evaluate need for medication or alternative interventions that will compliment your journey to sobriety.

  • Adolescent Mental Health IOP

Our Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides much-needed support for high school-aged adolescents who are struggling with severe depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. The program relies heavily on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques, focusing on coping skills, distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and family involvement.

These issues affect the entire family; therefore, we strongly encourage parents and/or legal guardians to participate in a weekly Multifamily Group where parents and adolescents come together to discuss special topics and review skills that the adolescents have learned in order to further support and coach their child in self-management.

The IOP program requires three-hour group sessions three days a week over seven weeks for a total of 21 sessions.

  • Adolescent Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy is a one-on-one 60-90 minute session with a licensed master level therapist in a safe, caring and confidential environment that allows space to explore and work through thoughts, feelings, behaviors, beliefs, and experiences. People seek therapy for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to, working towards desired change, achieving personal goals, coping with major life challenges or trauma and dealing with mental health diagnoses. The client and therapist will work to create an individualized treatment plan together.

Skill development is a natural goal of family therapy that supports autonomous functioning. The program relies heavily on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques, focusing on coping skills, distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, family involvement, and education on the relationship between mental health and substance abuse.
