Kristy Westby, BSWKristy Westby, BSW

Director of Admissions & Client Relations

Kristy graduated from The University of Michigan Flint with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. While in school, Kristy served as a case management intern for individuals with disabilities at Blue Water Center for Independent Living (BWCIL). At BWCIL, Kristy gained experience in program development; developing and teaching life skills to chronically homeless individuals with disabilities living in transitional supportive housing (TSH). Kristy worked as a case manager at Lapeer County Community Mental Health, Lapeer Area Citizens Against Domestic Assault and the TSH Program for surviving families. After moving to Texas, Kristy gained experience in customer service and business administration. Kristy brings her background in the mental health field as well as management skills to our team. 


Rosa Alanis

Office Manager

Rosa is a graduate of UT – Pan American with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She continued her education and earned a Texas Teaching Certificate and taught elementary education for twenty years. Rosa’s passion to study mental health has brought her to Sage Recovery & Wellness Center as she plans to continue her education in behavioral science. 


Cheri Scott

Medical Billing Specialist

Cheri comes to us with many years of  customer service and financing experience. She attended Virginia College-Austin for Medical Billing and is getting ready to receive her certification in the Medical Billing Field.  She is passionate about helping people which is what attracted her to Sage recovery and Wellness. Their approach to holistic healing and mental health recovery drew her in. Her hope is that she can help our clients with their healing process’ behind the scenes concerning their financial matters while the therapist heal them mind, body, and soul.


Sharlene Daniels

Human Resources Representative

Sharlene comes to Sage Recovery & Wellness Center with vast education and experience as a Human Resources Professional. She built her Human Resources career in variety of environments from manufacturing – glass, hardware, printed circuit boards, semiconductor equipment to government – most recently, the City of Austin. She also has experience as a facilitator/mediator/training instructor and Executive Assistant/Management Analyst for City of Austin/Travis County Healthcare System. Sharlene was drawn to Sage Recovery & Wellness Center by the belief that one recovery method does not fit all clients. Sharlene believes the idea that clients need options in their approach to recovery is representative of contemporary society, and therefore of best service to the client. Along with her vast experience, Sharlene brings her forthright approach, attitude of integrity and commitment to support staff in their commitment to client service delivery to the Sage Recovery & Wellness Center team.


Kelly Brynn

Senior Department Assistant

Kelly comes to Sage with over ten years of healthcare experience in a variety of settings including medical office administration, clinical research, and client service support. She received her Medical Administrative Assistant Certification at the National Institute of Technology in Southfield, MI, and then studied Business Administration with a specialization in Healthcare through American InterContinental University. Kelly’s passion for breaking the stigma associated with mental health disorders is what initially drew her to Sage, and she is excited to grow and learn with us while providing quality care for clients. When not in the office, Kelly can be found volunteering with the Human Rights Campaign as well as exploring Austin’s many trails with her husband and their two dogs.

 

Samantha Smith

Marketing Outreach Coordinator

A true social butterfly at heart, Sam comes to Sage with a diverse background in marketing, graphic design, and photography. She received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Advertising Media Design from Northwest Missouri State and an MBA from Lindenwood University. Sam’s passion for connecting with people in order for whole body and mind wellness is what attracted her to Sage. Outside of work, Sam enjoys freelance photography, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and chasing around her two dogs. 

 

Adrea Elliott, MSSW        

Compliance Coordinator

Adrea’s unique combination of professional audit/compliance work and social work/mental health education & experience merges together perfectly for our Compliance Coordinator position. She received her Masters of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Texas at Austin, following their Administration and Policy Practice concentration.  Adrea’s previous experience in the banking and insurance fields involved operations management, compliance work, internal and external auditing, loss prevention, project management, and program development. 


Bridget Blake

Administrative Assistant

Bridget graduated from Texas State University, San Marcos with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Forensic Psychology. While in school, she worked alongside a Forensic Psychologist as a teaching assistant and administrative assistant for a private practice. Bridget was initially drawn to Sage because of the willingness to help any client in need of treatment and the holistic approach Sage utilizes by incorporating services such as acudetox and yoga. Due to working with Sage, Bridget has been inspired to pursue a higher education in Forensic Psychology and Counseling.

 


Cody Bornowski

Facilities Maintenance Manager

Cody is a native Texan with a love for the outdoors. He served in the U.S. Army for 14 years as a Chief Warrant Officer. During his time in the Army, he gained leadership experience and led groups of up to 60 soldiers at a time at numerous Army posts worldwide. A mechanical engineer by training, Cody gained experience in the maintenance field as a tank mechanic. Prior to his time at Sage, Cody worked at Girl Scouts of Central Texas and was responsible for the upkeep and property improvement projects for more than 20 properties. As the Facilities Maintenance Manager at Sage, Cody is responsible for preventative maintenance, property upkeep and fixing things at Sage properties. Cody prides himself on providing a physical space in which patients can feel comfortable.


Nathan Stein

Receptionist 

Nathan comes to us with many years experience in customer service. He has experience in a wide range setting including call centers, banking, and fitness organizations. His passion is to put a smile on every person’s face and make their day a little brighter. Additionally, Nathan is passionate about holistic health and wellness, which is what brought him to Sage Recovery & Wellness Center.

 

 


Elleana Poulis 

Intern 

Elleana graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minor in Education. During her last year of school, she acquired a research assistant position in the Relationships Lab at the UT campus studying dating and marital couples and the factors that promote healthy, long-lasting relationships across the lifespan. Elleana plans to continue her education in hopes of becoming a therapist. She comes to Sage to further her learning and gain valuable experience from this opportunity.
